My name is Kate Gillingham.

I have been living and working in beautiful Mount Maunganui for the past 15 years.

I spent the first 17 years of my life in Whangarei, another stunning New Zealand town surrounded by magnificent coast.  If we weren't playing in the local oceans or rivers, I was in the pool either playing, competing  or teaching learn to swim.  I have a great love for the therapeutic power of water.

From Whangarei I moved to Dunedin for 7 years of study.  I completed a Physical Education Degree majoring in Exercise Prescription & Management and a degree in Physiotherapy.  Since graduating I have worked in many different areas of physiotherapy both in private and public health, the foundation of every treatment is working with the person to move more and to get the best out of their life.

Along with movement, in water or on land, I love food - real food and educating people about food - how to use it to add enjoyment and improved health.  This lead me to complete the year training in Integrative Nutrition.  This has taught me how to provide Health Coaching advice for anyone interested in creating balance.

I am not sure which I like more - Real food or Real Movement.  I believe Both are essential for life, when in moderation.

The water provides a fantastic medium for resistance training. It is a fun, social and safe environment, with multiple wellness benefits - come and have a go, and see how you feel .
